TRAVELBLOG FROM JAMAICA

TRAVELBLOG FROM JAMAICA part 3

Today it was the first Monday of August, which is Jamaicas national day. That is because the day they became independent from Great Britain, on the 6. of August was the first Monday in August. People were celebrating in the streets with Jamaican flags. I was happy to be here on this day so I could see how they celebrate.
I went to a cefé to get a coup of cofee. There a Bob Marley looking man played raggea music. The songs were actually a bit catchy. I finished my cofee and went back to may hotel.
I went to bed a little early because I had to cathc a the plane back home early the next morning.

TRAVELBLOG FROM JAMAICA part 2

Today I went out swimming. The water was warm and comfortable. I saw a lot of nice fish and birds. Jamaica is quite close to ecvator. So both air and water is very warm and the sun always shine. It is also very estetic because of the nice beaches and the clear water.
I had dinner at the same place as yesterday, but now with a different dish: Chicken, but sill with a lot of spice.

TRAVELBLOG FROM JAMAICA part 1

Today I went to a Jamaican history museum. I learned that Jamaica have been colonized by both Spain and England and that there has been a lot of slavery. Several times the slaves have tried to make revolution, but it failed everytime and the slaves were heavily punished. But after many years the slaves finally got their freedom.
I also learned what the Jamaican flag symbolizes. It consists of three colors: green, black and yellow. The green represents hope for the future and farming. The black represents the power and creativity of the people. The yellow represents the sunlight the national wealth.
Later I went to a local resturant. There I had a spiecy beef with beans, which is a typical jamaican dish.

I can´t wait till tomorrow.
